Evolving Risk Concerns in Asia Pacific

Building resilience in an increaslingly Uncertain Global Risk Environment

This report draws insights from the World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Report (GRR), published in partnership with MMC, and provides an updated view on the highest-priority risks for the region.

In this edition, the report highlights the unique risk concerns of the region that is the powerhouse for growth in the world.

The intention is to make this report a standard annual feature, and update it following each new Global Risk Report launch. We thus aim to update this for April / May 2017. In addition, we will do quarterly drill-downs into specific ‘Risks in Focus’ – we are currently working on ‘Cyber Risk’ and ‘Impact of low Oil’ pieces to be launched end of November and December.

The report (29 PAGES) features two separate views on prominent risk concerns for Asia Pacific:

Risk Expert View

  • Extreme weather events and NatCat on account of climate change
  • Failure of national governance, interstate conflict and terrorism
  • Infectious diseases

Business View

  • Energy price shock
  • Fiscal crises
  • Cyberattacks
