This year’s research focuses on the aviation industry’s recovery from COVID-19, subsequent growth, and related trends affecting aftermarket demand, maintenance costs, technology, and labor supply after a devastating 2020. The outlook reveals significant challenges the industry faces as it develops and expands its recovery and rebound plans. MRO Survey

In its second decade, the Oliver Wyman annual MRO survey samples a range of executives from across the aviation industry to learn how they are addressing key trends and emerging issues in the MRO sector.  This year the survey team examined:

  • What the top disruptors are expected to be for the industry over the next five years and what this means for all constituencies
  • How the shortage of technical labor is becoming more acute post-COVID-19 and the new tactics the industry needs to expand the talent pipeline
  • The material and labor cost inflation expected over the next few years and strategies being used by MROs, OEMs, and operators to counter it
  • The sustainability imperative facing the aviation industry and where MROs are headed in terms of supporting net-zero goals
