Ensuring gender equality in the workplace is a growing imperative for firms aiming to attract and retain talent. Rather than recruiting and nurturing new people, it makes more sense for companies to have systems in which current employees can continue to grow with the firm, rather than where experienced female team members are forced to give up their careers.

Angelina Oguma, Head of Oliver Wyman Japan and mother of three, discussed the importance of securing diversity not only in people but also in their ways of working.

In order to prevent companies from losing talented female employees so that women do not give up their careers due to their struggles with balancing their families, we will continue to focus on promoting the use of women and flexible work styles, and disseminate information both inside and outside the company.
