Air travel has received the vast majority of security-related transport investment by governments and carriers in recent years, yet terrorist attacks on rail and public transit systems can be just as disruptive. Emerging security solutions by a broad range of providers, which address both safety and operating cost issues, should allow rail operators to improve their return on investment.
