Understanding Intellectual Disabilities

Fifty colleagues from MMC Madrid, including Oliver Wyman co-workers, shared an unforgettable experience at the Carmen Pardo Valcarce Foundation.  By joining the “In their shoes!” program, volunteers worked hand-in-hand with a group of people with intellectual disabilities.

The Result

Through various ecological gardening, candy-making, carpentry, and stamp roles and workshops at the Special Employment Center of Pardo Valcarce, colleagues discovered their mentors’ special skills, put themselves in each other’s shoes, learned from their hosts, verified their great capabilities, and saw how independent, loving, and productive they are.
