Boosting Europe's AI Competitiveness with Top 100 Talents
January 03, 2025
There is a proof in 100 people’s profiles who excel in the domain of AI in Europe. French newspaper L’Opinion along with Oliver Wyman experts and creators of our AI offering, Quotient, prepared a list of Top 100 individuals on the continent, who are here to ensure the advancing of Europe’s AI solutions in the global competitive market, and inspire other curious minds, innovators, regulators, and investors.
There is a large gap between the size of the European AI innovations market, along with its investments and regulatory frameworks, comparing to the competing American and Chinese solutions. “We need to avoid a new oligopoly that would lead to inflation, as is the case with SEA or the cloud today” – comments for L’Opinion Bruno Despujol, partner who leads our Climate and Sustainability practice in France – “US platforms have dominated the sector from the outset, and charge Europe only a small fraction of the costs associated with their services in order to win market share. In the future, these services could become very expensive, with the risk that we will lose all the productivity benefits” – he insists.
The article prepared by Oliver Wyman experts and L’Opinion covers multiple aspects of the Artificial Intelligence development on the old continent. Xavier Boileau, partner in our Digital and Financial Services practices says: “AI at a company is 30 % technology and 70 % people and organization.”
