Sydney, May 9, 2024 – Oliver Wyman, a global management consulting firm and a business of Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC), announced that it has established an Australian Government and Public Institutions (GPI) practice, including establishing an office in Canberra, to support government organizations with their strategic, transformative and capability building endeavors. Oliver Wyman is investing significantly in its GPI practice globally, aiming to provide specialized expertise to solve complex government and public sector problems.
To lead this new practice, Oliver Wyman welcomes James Twaddle as Partner and Practice Leader, and Michael Thompson and Rony Azzi as Partners. The Australian GPI practice is key to Oliver Wyman’s global and Asia Pacific GPI growth strategy. The new practice in Australia will increase Oliver Wyman’s global GPI partner count to over 40, spanning Europe, India, Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific, with plans to grow further.
This strategic move complements Oliver Wyman’s existing global scale and capabilities, with the firm 50 per cent bigger than it was three years ago, and its recent rapid expansion in Australia. The firm now has over 20 Partners in the Australian market covering the Financial Services, Energy, Private Capital, Transportation, and Telecommunications sectors in addition to the Government Sector. The expansion enables Oliver Wyman to support clients during their transformative moments.
