Carolyn Vo, Partner and Head of Engineering has been recognized for her Excellence in Leadership at the 2022 Women Leaders in Technology Awards by Consulting Magazine.
Consulting Magazine acknowledges contributions made by women in the consulting profession and highlights practices related to the technology sector. It cannot be ignored that an overwhelming majority of leadership roles in consulting are filled by men, and women are inadvertently overlooked. Women are leading the charge in the technology sector in areas like digital disruption and transformation, IoT, cloud, cybersecurity, broad-based IT work, and more.
Carolyn brings over 22 years of software and technology experience to the firm and has raised the bar for client impact at Oliver Wyman by applying her deep engineering and architecture skills to solve some of the toughest tech challenges for Fortune 500 companies.
She has set up Digital hubs in Australia and Asia-Pacific from scratch, and today, her imprints are embedded our business. Having helped establish Engineering as a core capability in the firm, she now focuses on its continued growth and development. She also helps build out new capabilities in the firm and expand existing ones through strategic joint ventures. Her interests lie in digital strategy, enablement and transformation, technology modernization, IoT, APIs, CX, UX, and making existing technologies play nicely with new ones.
Carolyn is a pioneer and has accomplished multiple firm “firsts”, including becoming the first female to lead the Engineering capability, then becoming the first female engineer in our Digital practice group to make Partner. Inspired by these milestones, she is a fierce advocate for female and racially and ethnically diverse colleagues. At Oliver Wyman, she has sponsored changes to recruiting and marketing practices, and led fireside chats on Women in Tech.
I’m honored to be in the role I’m in today as a Partner. I’ve had many plentiful opportunities at Oliver Wyman and have been given the freedom, empowerment, and sometimes the forgiveness to innovate, experiment, and to fail
