Chris Doan, a vice president at CAVOK, a division of Oliver Wyman, was recognized with a special Lifetime Achievement Award from Aviation Week.
With more than 45 years of airline, maintenance, and manufacturing experience, Chris has served as CEO of TeamSAI, president of Triumph Precision Castings, COO of a component MRO business, senior vice president-maintenance operations for US Airways, and senior vice president-technical operations for Northwest Airlines. A licensed FAA pilot and mechanic, he is highly regarded for his talents in strategic planning, organizational change and development, and project execution.
Chris brings a tremendous amount of experience, passion, and enthusiasm to every role he has held. He was recognized for his years of contributions to the aviation community and for the mentoring he has provided to countless numbers of junior staff, many of whom have become leaders of the industry.
Steve Douglas
Steve Douglas, a vice president at CAVOK, a division of Oliver Wyman, was awarded the Airlines for America (A4A) Nuts & Bolts Award, which recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding service and achievements in the engineering or maintenance fields within the commercial aviation industry.
Steve recently retired from the FAA, where he coordinated FAA rulemaking, the rulemaking process, exemptions, and deviations, while frequently serving as the senior FAA representative at national, international, intergovernmental, and government-industry meetings. Over a 38-year career, starting with the US Air Force, and the private sector with Hawaii Air Ambulance, Steve became one of the most respected individuals in aviation maintenance. Steve received this award in recognition of his collaboration with industry and his personal approach to working through solutions with operators. He joins our own Jim Ballough, vice president at CAVOK, as a Nuts and Bolts recipient.
