UAE infrastructure and energy projects are buying more industrial components from local manufacturers. The push is driven by supply-chain disruptions and localization policies, especially for mission-critical equipment where downtime is costly.
Frederic Ozeir, Partner in the Energy and Natural Resources practice, pointed out that the shift is selective, not a blanket replacement of imports. Local sourcing is strongest where it improves continuity, reduces delivery risk, and builds capability in strategically important products.
Fred also added that clearer demand signals from major buyers help unlock investment in UAE capacity. Logistics, industrial zones, financing support, and ICV-linked incentives are also narrowing the gap between ambition and execution.
