As Financial Times reports, the OECD's Pisa rankings show the UK has a persistent gap in math performance between 15-year-old boys and girls. This contributes to a numeracy gap in adults population, affecting career options and well-being. Many other countries across the world have achieved a significantly lower gap.
Oliver Wyman is part of new National Numeracy task force on gender that has just started operate in the UK. The group intends to address attitudes and confidence-building, the role of employers, the need for visible role models and the generational skills deficit.
