Bloomberg: Huw Van Steenis On Threats Awaiting The Global Banking Sector

Huw van Steenis, Oliver Wyman’s Vice-Chair and Partner, spoke to Bloomberg Europe TV on the ramifications of Silicon Valley Bank’s collapse on the banking sector.

In the interview, he admits the alarming “acute phase is over”, but both central banks and the private banking sector need to be aware of the “chronic” problems, especially in the two upcoming months.

“Good news is, that the largest banks sail through this pretty well,” he adds, and stresses that portfolio diversification is crucial to manage financial institutions properly and to lower the risk of another collapse.
