The Guardian: UK Retail Sales Rise Ahead Of Brexit

The Guardian reported that the UK retail stats were up in January by 1%, after falling by 0.7% in December, with discounts in clothing helping to boost sales.

It also noted that consumers are “shrugging off” mounting fears over Brexit. Duncan Brewer, retail partner, said consumers might be stockpiling products they worried would not be available after Brexit, or to avoid potential price increases.
