BBC News: Duncan Brewer Comments On Current UK Retail Sales And Consumer Spending In The Lead Up To Brexit

Duncan Brewer, retail and consumer partner, commented live on BBC on retail sales figures for July and made a longer-term prediction that consumers will stockpile before Brexit:
"It’s going to be really fascinating in the run up to the 31 October deadline to see if consumers pull forward their spend and stockpile before Brexit, particularly as we are heading into peak trading season. I think this is one year where we can forgive retailers for putting their Christmas displays out a little bit early.”
