Data from PlaneStats was cited in an article titled, “Airlines get higher fuel bills just as busy summer flying season approaches” by CNBC.
The article discusses the extent of climbing jet-fuel prices and its effect on U.S. airlines. As the summer season approaches, airlines must decide between cutting services or raising ticket prices as a result of the rising cost of fuel. According to PlaneStats, airlines have increased capacity between the U.S. and abroad 4.3 percent in the May-July period from a year earlier.
