Wall Street Journal: Jason Kuehn On Future Of Rail Industry

Oliver Wyman Vice President, Jason Kuehn, was quoted in a story titled, “New CSX Chief Has Unfinished Work on the Railroad” in the Wall Street Journal.

The article evaluates the challenges and opportunities that the new Chief of CSX Corp., Jim Foote, will face following the death of his predecessor, Hunter Harrison.

A new federal safety regulation is expected to further tighten the truck market, which could help switch some freight traffic to the rails. The tax law is expected to provide a boost to railroads.

According to Kuehn, “Tax reform, a strong economy and a truck-driver shortage all bode well for a strong 2018 in the freight railroad industry."
