The Daily Mail: Oliver Wyman Research Shows AmazonFresh Undercutting UK Supermarkets By 20%

Work by Oliver Wyman has revealed the pricing difference between AmazonFresh and the UK’s four leading online supermarkets. Benchmarking 50 frequently-shopped items during the first week of January 2018, the research shows Amazon Fresh is cheaper or equally priced 70 percent of the time, and excluding promotions is 15–23 percent cheaper overall.

Nick Harrison, Partner and Oliver Wyman’s global retail co-lead, who lead the research, said: “I don’t think the supermarkets are as aware as they might be, because AmazonFresh is still relatively small and it’s only available in a smallish number of locations.”
