The Guardian: Deborah O’Neill Reminds Elon Musk That Robots Need A Human Touch

In response to reports on Elon Musk’s comments that “excessive automation at Tesla was a mistake” and that “humans are underrated”, Partner Deborah O’Neill shared in UK newspaper The Guardian the three most common mistakes she sees when companies try to deploy automation and AI:

  1. Missing the data basics
  2. Applying the wrong strategy
  3. Losing the human touch.

“Across industries, CEOs are wrestling with the balance between humans and increasingly cost-effective and advanced robots and artificial intelligence,” she says. “[but] it’s only by maintaining a human touch – thinking and seeing the bigger picture – that automation and AI can add the most value to businesses.”
