What We Do

We’ve developed Integrated Planning Solutions that break down siloes and enable alignment across airline functions. By combining data, analytics, and insights, we enhance the understanding of performance and optimize commercial and operational trade-offs. Our solutions have been tested by clients around the world. We take a holistic approach to planning, encompassing everything from network planning to day-to-day operations.

What We Think

The COVID-19 pandemic changed how airlines need to think about planning. A rapid recovery in demand, coupled with a reduced workforce and training delays, have led to personnel shortages across all departments, from pilots and mechanics to ground crews. Airlines are also grappling with a host of other issues, including delayed maintenance, supply chain disruptions, outdated information technology, rising fuel costs, and pressure to modernize fleets and reduce emissions. As carriers rebuild using outdated planning governance, processes, and tools, many are struggling to return to pre-pandemic levels of operational and commercial performance.

We observe that a lack of necessary insights and evidence into performance drivers and the impact of planning decisions, along with alignment and cultural challenges, contribute to suboptimal performance. Decision-makers often lack the necessary information to answer critical questions or make optimal trade-offs between operational and commercial goals.

Solutions

In the face of a drastically changed environment, airlines recognize the need for more comprehensive planning to balance the operational and commercial sides of the business. We have responded to this need by developing Integrated Planning Solutions, an adaptable platform designed to break down siloes and align all functions and activities across an airline. This platform is backed by the ability to dynamically analyze and respond to rapidly changing conditions.

The end result is a set of tools that can help airline C-suite executives address some of their biggest challenges. These solutions, tailored to each airline’s specific needs, provide rapid insights and facilitate improvements in planning effectiveness. Here are a selection of these solutions:

OTP Scenario Model
What is the optimal level of on-time performance (OTP) for the airline? This model estimates the OTP that can be reached with specific levels of investment and assesses how it affects aircraft time.
NetPlan
What is the impact on airline
economics? This network configuration utility assesses impacts on revenue, cost, and earnings resulting from changes in network, schedule, and alliances.
Schedule Build Framework
Does the airline have adequate operational parameters for its goal? This framework aids in designing schedules by setting targets, stress-testing input parameters, and reporting key performance indicator (KPI) outputs.
Schedule Operability Suite
Is the schedule sufficiently operable for reliable execution of the operation? This suite provides a proprietary approach and framework to assess the deliverability of schedules up to 12 months in advance.
Line-of-Flight (LOF) Risk Assessment
Which lines of flight pose the biggest risk for execution? This tool evaluates the riskiness of specific LOF’s in the schedule based on a set of characteristics and historic performance.
Performance Diagnostic Suite
What factors are driving performance? This suite offers diagnostic analytics to rapidly measure and assess schedule parameters and performance.
