Doug is a partner based in Sydney and leads Oliver Wyman’s Transportation and Services practice across the Asia Pacific.
He began his consulting career at Oliver Wyman more than 30 years ago and has since advised clients across every continent and across a wide range of transportation businesses. His work focuses on strategy, restructuring, and end-to-end digital transformation, with a strong emphasis on improving customer experience and operational performance.
Earlier in his career, Doug specialized in loyalty and customer experience, working across aviation, hospitality, consumer goods, energy, and financial services. That breadth of experience has shaped a global perspective on how organizations build distinctive brands and create value for customers, employees, and shareholders.
Today, he brings that cross-industry perspective to transportation clients as they navigate complex transformation agendas and look for practical ways to improve performance while strengthening the experience they deliver.
Airlines and railroads are both capital- and labor-intensive. Technology can improve efficiency and customer experience, but people remain at the heart of performance. We keep that front and center as we help clients deliver lasting impact
Before joining Oliver Wyman, Doug graduated from Georgetown University and worked in investment banking, financing highly leveraged transactions. His interest in aviation and transportation began much earlier, growing up as the son of a TWA pilot and flight attendant. That connection to the industry ultimately helped draw him to Oliver Wyman.
Doug also holds an MBA from Northwestern University.
Outside of work, he is an avid traveler and often plans trips around the chance to see the Northern Lights. He also enjoys pickleball and skiing, closely following snow conditions throughout the season.
Most of all, Doug values time with his wife, two daughters, and their yellow Labrador.
