Transforming a bold vision into lasting global impact takes more than a strategy — it requires partnerships, sustained commitment, and the ability to scale. Following a landmark year of strategic transformation, we continued our collaboration with the World Academy for the Future of Women (WAFW), helping the organization strengthen its global network and accelerate its mission to prepare the next generation of women leaders.
WAFW is an innovative leadership academy dedicated to developing university women for leadership roles around the world. Through action-based learning, international collaboration, and mentorship, the organization equips participants to discover their purpose, strengthen their leadership skills, and become changemakers advancing gender equality, social justice, and human dignity.
Building on the strategic foundation established during the 69th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), our team returned to support WAFW during CSW70 with a renewed focus on growth and implementation. Rather than redefining the organization's direction, the collaboration centered on bringing that vision to life.
Throughout the engagement, the team worked alongside WAFW to expand its global partner ecosystem, strengthen its presence within the United Nations community, and cultivate relationships with leading universities to broaden the academy's international reach. At the same time, preparations were made to onboard additional facilitators, creating the capacity needed to scale leadership programs and reach more aspiring women leaders worldwide.
These efforts represent an important milestone in WAFW's evolution — from establishing a clear strategic vision to building the partnerships and organizational capabilities needed for long-term, sustainable growth. Increased visibility through the United Nations has also opened new opportunities for collaboration, positioning WAFW to extend its impact to more universities and communities worldwide.
Oliver Wyman's support has been instrumental in helping us turn our vision into action. From expanding our global partnerships and preparing new facilitators to increasing our visibility, their contribution is enabling us to scale our impact and empower the next generation of women leadersWorld Academy for the Future of Women
For Maximilian Dietl, an associate at Oliver Wyman, supporting WAFW across both years of the engagement has demonstrated the value of long-term collaboration. Having worked alongside the organization as it has grown, he has seen it build new partnerships, prepare for future expansion, and increase its global visibility — important milestones that will help WAFW empower even more women leaders around the world.
As WAFW continues to grow its international network and expand its leadership programs, the partnership illustrates how sustained strategic support can help purpose-driven organizations move from defining ambitious goals to achieving meaningful global impact.
