I’ve competed in BBQ events for the past 10 years. Making BBQ brings out my creative side; I get to explore different combinations of flavor and technique. It helps me stay focused, because, once you find the right combination, you have to be able to repeat it over and over again, and in competitions you have to be able to do it under time pressure. I guess, like consulting, BBQ combines both creativity and rigor to be successful.
