To succeed in any industry, you have to maintain a high level of enthusiasm for the work you do. Fortunately, Dan’s deep-rooted knowledge of the travel industry comes from a background in and passion for hospitality, which he takes as seriously in his personal life as his professional:
I’ve competed in BBQ events for the past 10 years. Making BBQ brings out my creative side; I get to explore different combinations of flavor and technique. It helps me stay focused, because, once you find the right combination, you have to be able to repeat it over and over again, and in competitions you have to be able to do it under time pressure. I guess, like consulting, BBQ combines both creativity and rigor to be successful.
Dan is consistent in identifying revenue opportunities, managing them from strategy through to execution, and keeps his finger on the pulse of an ever-evolving technology sector:
The way consumers are buying travel is changing radically. This is placing significant pressure on the underlying technology of airlines and hotels looking to revamp their customer experiences and create true moments of surprise and delight along the entire customer journey. People seek me out for my deep knowledge of the hotel commercial value chain and the underlying technologies that support their operation.
