Milano Finanza: Giovanni Viani And Luigi De Sanctis On The UTP Conundrum

Oliver Wyman’s partners Giovanni Viani and Luigi De Sanctis were interviewed by Milano Finanza in a story titled “Oliver Wyman, the Greek strategy to solve the UTP problem."

Viani and De Sanctis discussed the options available to Italian banks, as they will soon have to start dealing with their unlikely-to-pay stock. UTP weight approximately 100 billion euros, and cover a variety of segments, therefore requiring specialized approaches, instruments and organization.

Collaborative restructuring platforms can be a viable solution for the market, based on Viani’s and De Sanctis’ experience in Greece, where Oliver Wyman is supporting the four systemic banks in setting up the first European UTP management platform.
