Takeko is a senior principal and Japan Lead of the Actuarial Practice. 

She focuses on building the firm’s client base and presence in Japan, supporting both local Tokyo-based carriers and global insurers seeking to expand into Japan or enter transactions with Japanese companies.

With more than 25 years of leadership experience in actuarial, risk, and finance, Takeko specializes in reinsurance strategy, global regulatory capital frameworks, actuarial valuations, asset-liability management (ALM), risk management, and actuarial modeling.

Since joining Oliver Wyman in 2025, she has led transformational engagements across Japan, the US, and Bermuda, including a large-scale, multi-phase reinsurance strategy project that has helped lay the foundation for expanding the firm’s footprint.

Takeko previously held senior leadership roles at Aflac Incorporated, Prudential Financial, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and Ernst & Young. Her experience spans enterprise actuarial architecture, capital and financial reporting, insurance asset management, and enterprise risk strategy. Beyond her corporate roles, she proposed and served as the first chairperson of BILTIR’s Global Advocacy Committee Japan subcommittee, helping strengthen regulatory dialogue between Japan and Bermuda. 

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Waseda University in Tokyo and a master of business administration in insurance from the College of Insurance in New York. Takeko is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Financial Risk Manager certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals, and a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter.

Outside of work, Takeko is a fourth-dan in kendo, a Japanese swordsmanship martial art, and competes in tournaments across the US. She is also the proud mother of teenage twins who recently represented Japan in the World Fencing Championship Tournament.
