Stephen is a senior principal in our Actuarial Property and Casualty (P&C) Practice, based in Bermuda.

He partners with P&C insurers and reinsurers on complex reserving, pricing, and capital matters, drawing on decades of leadership experience in Bermuda and global markets.

For more than 30 years, Stephen has advised on critical actuarial matters across reserving, reinsurance pricing, capital assessment, and financial reporting. He specializes in US GAAP and Solvency II reserving, capital modeling, reinsurance pricing, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) support, including due diligence, reserve opinions, solvency frameworks, commutations, and SEC reporting.

Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, Stephen held senior roles in the industry, including serving as lead pricing actuary for legacy transactions at R&Q Insurance Holdings and as a chief actuary at Enstar Group and Overseas Partners Ltd. His experience spans the US, Bermuda, the London Market, Switzerland, and Australia.

Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics and operations research from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and has been approved by Bermuda regulators to provide loss‑reserve specialist opinions.

Originally from the United States, Stephen has lived in Bermuda for more than 25 years. He met his wife and raised his children there, and the family enjoys the outdoor lifestyle Bermuda offers. Stephen enjoys golf and tennis, as well as staying physically fit.
