With more than two decades of experience, Sandra has worked extensively with financial institutions across South Africa, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, the UK, and the US. Her expertise lies in finance and risk, with a specific focus on strategy, treasury, risk management, regulation, development, and sustainability.

Sandra brings a unique perspective to her work, derived from nearly 10 years of hands-on senior management experience at pan-African banking groups. Her background includes leading corporate treasury functions and working across more than 40 countries, providing her with exceptional strategic insight and financial acumen.

In the realm of finance, our role extends beyond being mere custodians of capital; we are architects of progress. The decisions we make can create ripples that extend through economies, industries, and ecosystems, leaving a lasting impact for generations to come. It’s always a privilege to work with people who are interested in making a real difference, and not just following trends

Among her notable achievements, Sandra has piloted a global framework in collaboration with African financial sector regulators and institutions to assess and disclose environmental risks. She has also played a key role in establishing a significant Africa-led multistakeholder advocacy platform. Additionally, Sandra has successfully managed a comprehensive transformation program workstream, overseeing the overhaul of risk management and finance practices for a prominent African banking group.

Sandra holds an MSc in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, as well as a BSc (cum laude) in Operations Research and Financial Engineering from Princeton University. She has been a CFA charterholder since 2004.

In a unique endeavor, Sandra once set up a mini-golf course and themed restaurant, an experience she found both fun and challenging. She also has a penchant for quirky and interesting podcasts.
