Rainer leads the Retail and Consumer Goods team in Europe. Throughout his career, he has successfully pioneered large strategic and operational transformation programs for leading industry players across Europe. Outside of his retail industry focus, his functional expertise spans across operations, mainly concentrated on procurement, sourcing, and supply chain. The foundations of his expertise were laid during his business studies at the University of Mannheim and ESSEC Business School.
Working with consumer goods producers and retailers is both exciting and satisfying due to the short lead time of many changes in the business. In most of our client engagements, we jointly test and pilot new approaches with a tight measurement of impact. It is great to not only hear clients express their satisfaction with our work, but also see the positive impact on the company’s performance.

Outside of Oliver Wyman, Rainer is a passionate father of five children. And, as work and family duties allow, he loves to spend time outside hiking, biking, skiing, or fly-fishing.
