Kim is a senior aviation safety and risk advisor based in Washington, DC, with more than 25 years of experience working at the intersection of safety management, complex systems, data, and policy in the US and internationally. She is widely respected for her ability to translate complex technical and regulatory environments into clear, actionable guidance for executive leaders.
Throughout her career, she has advised senior leadership on safety governance, safety culture, human performance, and the use of data and analytics to identify and mitigate emerging risk. She has overseen large, multidisciplinary organizations, managed complex safety portfolios, and guided enterprise-level transformation efforts in high-reliability environments, including the application of advanced analytics and early AI techniques to surface latent system risk before it manifests operationally.
In addition to her technical expertise, Kim has a strong background in executive communication and stakeholder engagement. Earlier in her career, she advised senior leaders on Congressional engagement, regulatory oversight, and public accountability, and is known for her ability to communicate clearly in high-stakes, highly scrutinized environments.
Today, she advises aviation organizations, regulators, and industry leaders on safety strategy, risk governance, safety management systems, data-enabled decision-making, and organizational safety culture. Her advisory work is grounded in practical experience, systems thinking, and a nuanced appreciation for the human factors that shape safety outcomes.

Kim holds a master of public administration from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Hollins University.
Outside work, she can be found hiking the Potomac Trail with her dog or traveling abroad with her husband and daughter. She is also passionate about developing the next generation of safety leaders and serves on the board of directors for the Laura Taber Barbour Air Safety Foundation and the Boeing Center for Aerospace and Aviation Safety.
