Joachim is a partner in Oliver Wyman’s Operations and Energy and Natural Resources practices and a member of the global leadership team.
With more than 30 years of experience, he advises CEOs and senior executives across the energy, chemicals, and steel industries on complex transformation and change. His work spans sustainability, portfolio strategy, growth, cost transformation, and large-scale performance improvement.
Joachim focuses on helping leadership teams translate strategic ambition into practical execution, particularly when organizations need to reshape portfolios, improve competitiveness, or respond to structural change in their industries.
Transformation creates value when strategy and execution are tightly connected. The challenge is to make clear choices, mobilize the organization, and sustain momentum long enough to deliver lasting results
He has also co-authored numerous articles and publications on strategy development and implementation.
Joachim studied business administration at the University of Bayreuth and earned his PhD at the Corporate School of Management, Koblenz.
Outside of work, he is a keen racing cyclist, runner, and tennis player. He is married and has two children.
