James joined the Oliver Wyman Actuarial Consulting team in New York in 2022. As a senior manager, his primary focus is on the commercial healthcare market.
His experience as a consulting actuary includes pricing individual and small group ACA products for insurance carriers, reviewing rate filings and performing actuarial studies for state regulators, and modeling the impact of new and proposed healthcare legislation.

Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, James spent 10 years in the health insurance industry in various capacities. His work included individual ACA pricing, risk adjustment and population morbidity analysis, market and competitive analysis, healthcare reform modeling, commercial pharmacy rating, and large group pricing.
Outside of work, James is an avid snowboarder and splitboarder, often visiting the Rockies during winter. He is also a certified scuba diver and freediver, and is engaged in coral reef conservationism.
James is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
