Hirohisa is a senior principal in our Actuarial practice, covering property and casualty (P&C) actuarial businesses in Japan.

With over 40 years of industry experience, he has advised and provided actuarial services to a wide array of insurers, including P&C, life, small-amount and short-term, reinsurers, and many others.

Hirohisa’s extensive background includes senior roles at Milliman, Willis Re, Toa Reinsurance, Zurich Insurance, AIG/AIU Insurance, and Nippon Fire, with expertise in actuarial leadership, enterprise risk management advice, reserve review, solvency margin calculation, and regulatory projects.

Before joining Oliver Wyman, he was a managing director at Deloitte Tohmatsu, where he served as appointed actuary for multiple insurers and gained experience in both life and non-life insurance sectors. He led the insurance actuarial team for ten years.

Hirohisa holds an MBA with a concentration in finance from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Japan and a Certified Member Analyst of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan.

Outside of work, he enjoys running and playing the clarinet. He also devotes his time to community activities, such as guide running for people with visual impairments.
