Florian is a partner in our Actuarial Practice and co-lead of the German office, based in Düsseldorf.
His focus is on supporting many of Europe’s largest insurance companies with capital modeling questions. Florian has a strong technical background and has extensive knowledge in the actuarial field, including Solvency II, asset and liability management, and broader risk modeling within the context of economic capital modeling.
Florian provides high-impact advisory and consulting for clients to navigate their current challenges and create the best possible environment for actuaries to thrive. In particular, he and his team provide actuarial consulting services to help clients in analyzing and optimizing their risk, solvency, and capital positions. They also work to streamline and automate the underlying calculation processes, creating a unified risk and economic valuation environment.

Ongoing learning and personal development are important values for Florian, and he believes in the value of curiosity. Most recently, some of his focus areas include applications of machine learning techniques in the insurance industry, for instance for efficient and accurate risk assessments, improved portfolio management, and enhanced decision-making processes.
Florian holds a diploma in business mathematics and a PhD in mathematics from the University of Marburg. He is also a member of the German Actuarial Society.
Outside of work, Florian enjoys spending time with his family. As a former semi-professional athlete and multiple finalist at German championships in the 3,000m steeplechase, he is also still active when it comes to sports.
