Charles is a principal in our banking and financial services team, with a focus on corporate and institutional banking (CIB) and non-financial risk.
Based in Singapore, he advises banks across Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region on a range of strategic topics, including technology transformation, commercial and customer strategy, cost optimisation, risk management, and operational excellence.
Charles has led numerous high-impact projects for CIB businesses, including the development of a corporate transaction banking strategy for a prominent Japanese bank, supply chain finance product design and go-to-market strategy for a leading ASEAN bank, and a five-year CIB strategy for a leading global bank. He led end-to-end cost optimization and operating model strategy work for a leading global bank, advised on artificial intelligence (AI) governance and strategy in SEA in both public and private sector contexts, and developed Compliance frameworks and operating models for banks in the ASEAN region.
As a consultant working with leading banks in the region, I enjoy helping clients power their growth story, not only optimizing existing business models, but also helping clients expand and develop new offerings to serve Asia’s growing banking needs
Before joining Oliver Wyman, Charles gained extensive experience at two leading global banks, holding various roles in London and Singapore that focused on capital markets and regulatory issues in emerging markets across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
He earned an undergraduate degree from Bristol University and a postgraduate degree from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his young family, playing padel, and traveling throughout Asia.
