Ben is a partner in our Actuarial Life practice, based in New York. He advises life insurers, reinsurers, and their investors on the capital, actuarial, and strategic finance decisions that shape balance sheet performance.
His expertise spans offshore reinsurance and captive structuring, asset liability management (ALM), capital optimization, and actuarial and financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions (M&A), helping clients navigate a life insurance industry being reshaped by capital scarcity, private capital, and rising regulatory complexity.
Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, Ben was a managing director at Ernst & Young, where he led strategic finance advisory engagements for life insurers and served as actuarial lead on major insurance M&A transactions. He also previously led actuarial, finance, and risk functions inside major insurers and reinsurers, including in Bermuda, Asia, and Europe. His operating background in various jurisdictions around the globe gives Ben a practical understanding of how strategic and regulatory decisions actually get implemented.
I have spent my career leading insurers and reinsurers from within, sitting on your side of the table when working with advisors. That’s the perspective I bring to every client relationship
Ben holds a bachelor of arts in mathematics from Cornell University and is a CFA Charterholder, a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst.
