Partner and Head of Transportation and Services, Asia Pacific
 // . //  Our People //  Doug Carlucci

Doug is a partner based in our Sydney office where he also leads our Asia Pacific Transportation and Services Practice.

He began his consulting career more than 30 years ago at Oliver Wyman. He has since collaborated with clients on every continent and within every facet of transportation. His specialization lies in crafting strategic solutions, orchestrating restructuring initiatives, and orchestrating comprehensive end-to-end digital transformations, all underscored by an unwavering commitment to enhancing customer experiences and optimizing operations.

Doug’s initial focus on loyalty and customer experience gave him an opportunity to work across numerous industries such as aviation, hotels, consumer packaged goods, energy, and financial services. This diverse experience broadened Doug’s global perspective, enabling him to assist his clients in creating distinctive brands that deliver remarkable outcomes for customers, employees, and shareholders.

In our industry, we deal with the demands of being both labor and capital-intensive. While technology offers efficiency gains and improved customer experiences, the heart of a successful airline or railroad company remains its people. We keep that in mind as we work with our clients to always deliver 10/10 impact

Prior to embarking on his journey with Oliver Wyman, Doug graduated from Georgetown University and worked as an investment banker financing highly leveraged transactions. His innate passion for aviation and transportation, fostered by his upbringing as the son of a TWA pilot and flight attendant, ultimately drew him to Oliver Wyman. He holds an MBA from Northwestern University.

Outside the professional realm, Doug is a dedicated traveler and an enthusiast of the Northern Lights, often embarking on quests to witness this natural phenomenon. He also harbors a profound fondness for pickleball and indulges in skiing for approximately 10-20 days annually, depending on snow conditions, which he also avidly tracks. However, Doug's most cherished pastime is spending quality time with his wife, two daughters, and their faithful yellow Labrador.
