A Principal with the Actuarial Practice, Robert joined Oliver Wyman in 2016 after working in the health care strategy and actuarial teams for another large consultancy. Now based in the Chicago and Milwaukee offices, he specializes in both pricing and strategy of commercial and Medicare Advantage products.
Robert’s prior experience encompasses risk revenue management, care management design and strategy, value-based contract assessment, RFP response strategy, and underwriting process design and automation. In his own words, Robert’s role is to “help clients confront the unknown through a combination of rigorous analytics and tactical business strategy, in a fluid balance, since neither can drive success in isolation.”
Providing strong support and sharp recommendations to clients is always the top priority, but as consultants we have the ability to add so many other benefits when partnering to develop cutting-edge strategies with clients.
Teammates seek out Robert to be inspired and hear a passionate answer. “One of the biggest leaps in my career occurred when I realized I could inspire folks to look within themselves and to be the best version of themselves,” he notes. To those entering the field, Robert’s advice is to “be the first one to grab a marker and walk to the white board, roll up your sleeves to explain the details and then pivot to the strategy required to execute the big picture.”
Robert graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Actuarial Science. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
