Based in New York, Randy has 38 years of combined consulting, industry, and military experience. For the past 25 years, he has consulted in aerospace, defense, security, federal civil, and related industries serving major original equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and government service providers in the US as well as internationally.
I’ve long felt an affinity toward and kinship with those in the aerospace and defense industries whose mission is to protect us. For me, my work is about more than simply making money as a consultant – it’s a way to support a calling and to contribute to national security.
It’s a role that suits the ex-Army commander of an airborne rapid deployment force. “I’ve always believed in the importance of service,” he says. “I started out in the military when I first got out of university. Subsequently I worked in the technology sector, and then finally ended up in the consulting industry after business school.”
His long track record with helping clients has inspired trust and strong relationships. “Clients know that from their past experience working together with me that if they need help and they reach out to me, they will get the support and service that they need,” says Randy.
They also turn to him for his expertise, his deep understanding of the defense sector, and his grasp of industry dynamics and the competitive landscape. “People tend to seek me out for insights into the latest trends and how technology may affect the sector, and my opinions on the various industry players,” he says, adding that he’s shown himself capable of supporting every defense subsector in his long and varied career. “Be it aerospace or space, naval shipbuilding or defence electronics, I have been able to serve virtually every aspect of what the industry is comprised of.”
Outside of work, family comes first. “What matters most to me is being with my children and grandchildren, spending time with the family, and travelling with my wife,” he says. Besides that, he’s also passionate about golf and fly-fishing.
