Josh is a Partner in the firm’s Retail and Business Banking practice. He has over 20 years of consulting experience working with leading financial institutions, payments networks and processors, financial investors, telecommunications providers, retailers, and other prominent consumer brands. He advises clients on the design, delivery, and optimization of new financial products and services. He has also assisted clients in identifying, evaluating, and partnering with financial technology companies to accelerate and improve their entry to new market segments.
Josh focuses on strategy design and execution, with a specialty in digital‑first products and services. His expertise covers a range of banking products including DDAs, credit/debit/prepaid cards, alternative lending, bill pay, and P2P payments. Additionally, he regularly advises clients on important topics affecting market competitiveness such as fraud and risk mitigation, cost optimization, and organizational design.
Josh maintains an interest in the mainstream adoption of financial technology. Beyond his client work, Josh serves as both a formal and informal advisor to several startups and venture groups.
Prior to joining Oliver Wyman in 2019, Josh was a Partner and Payments Strategy Practice leader at another consulting firm. Josh received his MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
