Markus Streiner is a partner in Oliver Wyman’s Financial Services and Digital practices. He rejoined the firm in 2011, having spent time working in industry, leading cost management efforts for a DAX30 company.
From insurers to market infrastructure providers and private equity funds, Markus has worked across a broad range of international assignments within financial services. His focus now is on improving digital businesses and transforming operating models, as well as partnering with clients on cost transformation. He also leads our EMEA insurance cost team.
Over my career I’ve worked with a wide range of clients across different industries, geographies, and jurisdictions to design and implement their large scale transformation programs. All of these engagements have taught me important lessons about how to balance generating short-term shareholder value, not disrupting daily operations, and also setting the business up for future success. We involve different stakeholders early in the process, and always aim to have a collaborative partnership.
Markus advises his clients on how to work more efficiently and be more effective in transformation projects. This includes helping clients better understand their cost base, identify pain points, define improvement opportunities, and carry out these opportunities. It is also important to work constructively with other areas of the business, such as consulting and negotiating with employee representative bodies.
At Oliver Wyman we always thrive to achieve the amazing, to help our clients get the very best results. From toolkits to methodologies, every client solution is unique
