Eve is a Consultant with the Actuarial Practice of Oliver Wyman, based in Seattle. Prior to joining Oliver Wyman in 2020, Eve spent time at two large insurance companies, working on model validation, pricing of life products, cash flow testing of annuity products, corporate financial oversight, global actuarial value management, and legacy. The desire to grow faster, accumulate more knowledge on products and industry trends, and build up her network led her to the consulting world.
Clients and colleagues seek out Eve for her model-related expertise and actuarial judgment. Recently, she has been working on quantifying model errors’ financial impact, aligning assumptions in different models, assisting M&A and reinsurance projects, providing pricing benchmarking, and performing cash flow testing.
On the surface, my background is very different from actuarial science. But my PhD in Electrical Engineering taught me how to be persistent, patient, and creative to solve difficult problems, and how to get tasks done accurately and efficiently.
A particularly rewarding experience for Eve was working for a client that had never used consultants before and had some doubts. Just two weeks in, their perception had completely changed for the better.
