Dr. Arun Mishra is a member of Oliver Wyman’s Health and Life Sciences practice and is based in London. He has more than 10 years of professional experience across commercial and Research and Development segments within the life sciences sector. He focuses on developing commercial strategies, including opportunity assessment, go-to-market, growth, and portfolio strategies.
Before joining Oliver Wyman, Arun was with IQVIA, where he shaped the go-to-market strategy for its MedTech consulting practice as well as supported MedTech, Digital Health, Biopharma, and Private Equity investors on critical decision-making for ‘where-to-play’, ‘how-to-play’, and ‘when-to-play’. Before IQVIA, Arun supported the corporate strategy function of BTG (acquired by Boston Scientific), and had also co-authored 15+ publications in international scientific journals during his academic stint and has spoken at several conferences globally.
Coming from a remote village in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, Arun has repeatedly been thrown out of his comfort zone, making him resilient and adaptive to constant change. He realized that his performance peaks under challenging environments; and he believes that change is driven by the people who learn to adapt but also challenge new environments and not just try to survive.
As a trained biochemist and scientist with a passion for poetry and story writing, Arun brings creative ways to problem-solving, which he thinks lies at the bottom of the pyramid, you just need to dig it enough. Arun holds a Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham (Biochemistry) and a Master's (Biotechnology) from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
