In this new role, Huw will provide strategic consulting services to clients, to assist them in their efforts to capture opportunities and mitigate risks posed by the transition to a lower carbon economy.  He will also drive research of financial markets and sustainability trends to help better inform clients as they make investment and strategic decisions.

Huw van Steenis, Vice-Chair and Partner, Oliver Wyman, said: “The transition to a lower carbon economy presents immense opportunities and challenges for finance. I’m energised by the opportunity to work with a firm that prioritises providing clients with the advice, tools and robust data they need to navigate the issues presented by energy transition, and to advise on investment, strategic and risk decisions.”

Christian Edelmann, Managing Partner, Europe, Oliver Wyman, added: “We are incredibly excited to have Huw as part of the Oliver Wyman team as a driving force in our climate finance efforts. We have long respected his leadership and vision in finance, investing and climate, and he brings a unique perspective and powerful insights on the opportunities and navigating the risks on the road to a lower carbon world."
