Forbes: The Lean, Digitally Mean Airline Fleet of the Future Takes Shape

Tom Cooper, vice president and John Smiley, senior manager in Oliver Wyman's aviation practice, wrote an op-ed for Forbes titled “The Lean, Digitally Mean Airline Fleet of the Future Takes Shape.”  The op-ed explores the airline fleet of the future and includes data from Oliver Wyman’s 2017 Fleet Forecast. According to the Fleet Forecast, ten years from now, 58 percent of the global airline fleet will be planes designed and built after 2000. The average age of the fleet will drop to 9.7 years old from 11.2 years today.
