NEW CONSULTANTS often travel and work on client projects from the start. Most of the work is research and analysis for project teams. You’ll have a lot of freedom in how you structure your tasks. And, because you’re creating the fundamental knowledge on which our company runs, you can command anyone’s full attention.
SENIOR CONSULTANTS have enough experience to ask the right questions, frame hypotheses, and initiate research to find the answers. Challenges in different fields will help you discover where you’d like to focus. As a Senior Consultant, you will be shaping the problems that we work on and developing specialized expertise that others will seek out.
ASSOCIATES break down complex problems into discrete tasks. You’ll work side by side with clients and your project team members to move projects forward and manage small teams to get the work done. Clients and colleagues look to Associates for unique insight into the subject area which they have chosen.
ENGAGEMENT MANAGERS are the on-scene leaders who run our projects day to day. It’s a role that demands thought leadership at the strategic level – and command of all the technical and operational details of execution. You will need great communication skills and the ability to forge strong relationships.
PRINCIPALS are our content experts and lead complex client projects. They play a central role, alongside our Partners, in client relationships and commercial processes. We look for a record of success in the industry field, and expect you to work closely with Partners to discover new opportunities for Oliver Wyman.
Oliver Wyman Partners are influential leaders in global industries, and the leaders of our firm. To become a Partner here you must own an area of expertise, be among the best in the world at building long-term relationships with executives at Global 1000 companies, and developing the talents of Oliver Wyman people at every level.

We are a company of mentors and apprentices at every level.
Oliver Wyman gives you the choice to dig deeper into your specialty or develop mastery in a new field with lots of feedback along the way. Experimentation and growth is central here: we are continually creating new practices as the world changes and as we uncover new ways of doing business. And what you learn, we expect you to teach.
When you join, we’ll pair you with a peer who has gone through a similar career transition to help you settle in, assess your choices, and answer any questions. A Partner Career Advisor will be your independent sounding board at every turn. This is in addition to continuous feedback from each project and at year-end. We also provide you with a mid-year career plan and a dedicated Talent Manager to help you with your continued development. Training programs complement your mentoring.
