3PL capability/process prototype for a state liner shipping firm
Business development: For China’s largest state-owned liner shipping firm, Oliver Wyman was retained to help it develop and successfully integrate the full spectrum of third-party logistics (3PL) capabilities and business processes in a prototype effort for a major customer. This effort is being used as a guide for eventual transformation of the entire logistics organisation to become a broad-based 3PL provider. In addition, Oliver Wyman developed a long-term growth strategy for the logistics business, including recommendations concerning organizational structure, key customer segments, go-to-market plans, potential alliance structure, etc.
Experience
Oliver Wyman has conducted dozens of engagements over the past five years for global integrators and expedited parcel delivery firms, national and regional third-party logistics services providers, and North American and European postal services.
