Before joining Oliver Wyman, I lived in Sub-Saharan Africa for over two years, working as a microfinance banker. I also co-founded two technology companies in the US. After getting my MBA at the University of Michigan, I wanted to work in consulting, to both leverage my own experiences and education to solve client issues and to learn from senior executives of Fortune 500 companies. Oliver Wyman has the global reach, client list, reputation and intellectual vigor of its top competitors. The difference here is that the entire organization is accessible right up to the most senior people, like a tight-knit family.
I started in the London office, and then transferred to Dubai. No matter which office I’m in, I have access to senior executives and client issues that would have taken years to gain exposure to if I was plodding up the corporate ladder in a large corporation. To me, this accelerated experience curve is the main reason that I joined Oliver Wyman.
