Global beverage company: Assisted in multiple, high-impact initiatives
For a leading global beverage company, Oliver Wyman assisted in a number of important initiatives, including:
- We provided assistance with a sales and distribution strategy, which included the migration of the sales force to the bottlers' organization. Oliver Wyman performed detailed implementation planning for the sales migration, and developed the long-term strategy and business case for building a warehouse capability at the corporate level.
- We helped implement a joint venture to manufacture and distribute bottled water in the US on an accelerated timeline (three months from deal announcement to "go-live" date). Oliver Wyman provided overall project management, including interaction with the European partner, a division providing back-office support, the joint venture management team, the parent company, and US bottlers.
- We assisted with the re-design and re-implementation of the finance operations group. Firm executives felt overwhelmed by data but lacked information to make important decisions. Oliver Wyman worked with the CFO, Controller and employees from field and headquarters to interview stakeholders, identify external best practices, and streamline reports, work processes, and organizational structure. Approximately 20 percent of staff were re-allocated from low value-added processing to higher-value business analysis.
