Dr. Thomas Garside is the Global Head of Finance & Risk within Financial Services. He originally joined Oliver, Wyman & Company in 1993 and specializes in applying and implementing risk concepts to retail, commercial and investment banking, asset managers and insurance companies.
His experience in consulting includes assisting clients in their preparation for the anticipated changes to the Basel Accord, development and implementation of risk-based capital approaches for insurance businesses, strategic impact of future regulatory regimes, effective approaches to enable more active credit portfolio management and the evolving roles of the risk and finance functions.
Dr. Garside holds a BA (Engineering Science) and D.Phil (Experimental and Computational Fluid Dynamics) from the University of Oxford.
