What is RSS ?
Frequently Asked Questions
RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, provides you with a new way of keeping on top of Oliver Wyman Insights and News. RSS allows you to view constantly updated headlines from our various practices in one place. Simply choose which industry and capability feeds you would like to subscribe to and see how they can help manage your website reading. Please note that these feeds are not subscriptions to emails.
How to Use RSS
In general, the first thing you need is something called a news reader. This is software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications. Most are free. Some popular readers for articles include: Google Reader, FeedReader, and My Yahoo!
Browser-based news readers let you catch up with your RSS feed subscriptions from any computer, whereas downloadable applications let you store them on your main computer, in the same way that you either download your e-mail using Outlook.
Once you have chosen a news reader, all you have to do is to decide what content you want it to receive. Most sites that offer feeds use a common orange button, but some may just have a normal web link. Depending on your reader, you can simply click on the RSS buttons to the right to subscribe to the Oliver Wyman feeds or you may need to cut and paste the same URL into a new feed in your news reader.
