Partners
Partners are established in their field. They are affiliated with one of Oliver Wyman’s industry or functional groups, although their capabilities and range of advice cover the spectrum of client issues. Partners serve as strategic advisors to senior clients and have primary selling responsibility. Oliver Wyman partners regularly cooperate when selling projects, both within and across industry and functional groups.
Partners take significant responsibility to develop additional Oliver Wyman intellectual capital and to set direction and strategy for the company itself, driving the continued growth and success of the firm.
Associate Partners
Associate Partners manage large projects and have ultimate responsibility for the quality delivery to clients. They serve as day-to-day client advisors, both in the context of the specific project and the client’s overall strategic direction. Associate Partners take an active role in selling work to clients. They also have the primary responsibility to manage, coach and develop non-partner consultants at Oliver Wyman.
Associate Partners are partners of the firm. They are typically promoted from Senior Associate with the sponsorship of one of Oliver Wyman’s industry or functional groups. Professionals with significant industry or functional expertise and consulting experience can also be hired as Associate Partners.
Senior Associates
The Senior Associate position is an important step in the career progression to partner. Senior Associates have demonstrated mastery of quantitative analysis and research skills. They serve as case managers on smaller projects or on portions of larger engagements. They are responsible for developing integrated client solutions, managing quality and strengthening client relationships.
Associates
Initially, Associates are responsible for research, analysis and packaging of their findings. As an Associate gains experience, he or she will manage and develop other case team members, structure the team's work, design the research, formulate recommendations, present findings, and work with clients on implementation. In general, MBA graduates with significant relevant work experience will join Oliver Wyman as Associates.
Consultants
Consultants have a demonstrated track record of superior analytics, modeling skills, and research capabilities. They are responsible for their own work planning, problem structuring, idea generation, and advanced financial and business analyses. They summarize and present their own analyses and client implications. Consultants also take a larger leadership role in interactions with clients and assist with the development of less experienced analysts.
Analysts
Our Analyst program offers excellent career growth opportunities for talented, highly motivated university graduates. Analysts take on a variety of responsibilities: They carry out essential research and data collection, conduct complex quantitative, strategic, and financial business analyses, and work directly with client teams on client sites. Analysts have the opportunity to work on high-level business problems across diverse industries and clients.
